Awareness
1. Awareness aims to focus attention and create understanding of basic business continuity, crisis management, crisis communication or disaster recovery concerns. It is knowing or having knowledge of something through alertness or observing or interpolating what with the basic senses.

Note (2): Examples of creating such awareness includes distribution of posters and flyers targeted at organization-wide audience or conducting specific briefings for the executive management of the organization. Awareness is less formal than training and is generally targeted at all staff in the organization. Note (3): It forms part of the awareness, training and education learning continuum.

2. Mindset to focus attention and create understanding of basic BCM issues and efforts. This will enable staff to recognise such concerns and respond accordingly. Examples of creating such awareness include distribution of posters and flyers targeted at company-wide audience or conducting specific business continuity briefings for executive management of the organization. Awareness is less formal than training and is generally targeted at all staff in the organization. It forms part of the awareness, training and education learning continuum.
