1. Non-conformity refers to a failure to comply with requirements.
Notes (1): Whenever an organization fails to meet one of the requirements as spelled out in the Standards, a nonconformity occurs. When an organization deviates from these requirements, this is when a non-conformity occurs. Notes (2): Non-conformity - Minor: Failure to comply with a requirement which is not likely to cause a failure in the management system. Notes (3): Non-conformity - Major: Absence or the total breakdown of a management system to meet a requirement.
