General Procedures

Notifying Corporate Communication (Crisis Communication)

  • To help develop a crisis communication response strategy to quell rumours, employees shall notify the crisis management team (Operations Centre) of any crisis situation as early as possible.

Corporate Communication shall gather and verify information in a crisis and is the only crisis management team leader authorized to release information.

A representative of the business unit impacted by the crisis will provide the Crisis Communication with all relevant details/facts as they learn them.

Employees shall direct all media and other individuals, whether internal or external, to Crisis Communication.

In accordance with the Crisis Management Plan, the Crisis Management Team Leader shall alert the Crisis Communication Team Leader of actual and likely crises occurring involving employees or operations or any other crisis likely to significantly impact the organisation. Notice shall be given as promptly as possible.
