Antigenic Shift
1. Antigenic Shift is an abrupt change in the hemagglutinin and/or the neuraminidase protein type on the surface of a particular strain of influenza virus, causing a new subtype of the virus to suddenly emerge.
Note: It only occurs in Influenza Type A.
